Damaged sockets and switches like this one are dangerous.
Often there are bare metal conductors accessible just beyond the face-plates of these fittings and people, especially curious children, can easily receive potentially fatal electric shocks from them.
Never use broken fittings or accessories.
Replace them as soon as possible.
